What is the Clifinar SEO Contest?

Clifinar is the contest ran by Compucallers to get the 1st position for the term - Clifinar. The contest was invented by Mr. Clifton Flack, in charge of professional trainings at Compucall Web Marketing, as a mean to engage the team in the diffrent practices.

What is a clifinar?

Clifinar is a lesson where Clif (Clifton Flack) is giving a seminar. We hold 2-4 clifinar sessions every week at Compucall, to keep our team up to date with the latest techniques and trade know how.

How does it work?

Each Compucall employee (sorry, the contest is open only for employees) must deploy their knowledge and expertise in creating a web asset (can even be a page) which will be the top ranking listing at Google SERP for the term clifinar on July 10th 2008.

Are there rules to clifinar?

There are a few basic rules for the contest, all described in the company's wiki.

The contest is npw live for 2 days, and we can see that there are already 90+ results for the term "clifinar" in Google, and that's some 48 hours after the program started! It also seems that Google is caching the new content very fast, sometimes even minutes after publishing, however the first page placements are not stable and still changing throughout the day.

Things are getting more and more clear. The fluctuation of the top results page is stopping and results seem a bit more stable than a few days ago. Some pages are looking better and stronger in their positions.
It seems, that just putting the word clifinar in the title and a few tags is not enough, and one needs to invest time, thought, efforts and creativity.
I saw some more videos covering the contest, richer pages better link bait and some nice ccoperations between the players.
Aside from the prize, I feel we're making good progress in the SEO practice as a work group, getting a better understandin of the arena we all play in, undersanding the concept of competition, the thinking of one who wants one keyword up at the top and sometime frustrated when it does ot happen, does not get indexed or just stuck somewhere...
Until this pount, clifinar is a success for me, as the team leader, and even though our community is aying a price f having some pages and links to a meaningless clifinar, it's worth it IMO.
Now I'll go about and do some work - see if it helps :-)

after the gabg took clifinar at the leading blogging and content publishing sharing platforms, I chose wetpaint. wasn't my first choice, but it's a flexible system with decent features. let's hope it gets indexed as well :-)

Need to use links smartly. not to hurt my sites, but to add them in a fashionable order. Clifinar is a single word - need to write some quality content around it, not only repeat.

- some pages at squidoo, hubpages are jumping. Linkedin pages are stable close to the top.

Clifinar SEO contest has launched in Tel Aviv

Clifinar, a Compucall SEO contest has launched today in Tel Aviv, enabling new team members to present their techniques, tips and tricks, to win a money prize. Some 30 new listing were found during the first day of Clifinar.
